Press Release, Cooper University Healthcare
Six-year-old Lily Cuticchia of Haddon Township, NJ visited Cooper University Health Care on July 20 to donate nearly 1,200 pairs of new socks she collected for patients in Cooper’s emergency department and addiction medicine programs.
When Lily’s mom, Jordan Murphy, began working at Cooper University Health Care last fall, Lily took a keen interest in her mother’s job in the Addiction Medicine Department. She had a particular concern for the patients at the hospital. She asked hospital staff how she could help and found out that patients who come to the Addiction Medicine Program and Emergency Department are often in need of socks.
What started out as a simple collection among friends and relatives, ended up growing as people heard of Lily’s determination. In a month’s time, she had collected nearly 1,200 pairs of new socks for patients. Lily will be starting second grade at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in the fall.
