Press Release, Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce
Dear Fellow Chamber of Commerce Members and Partners,
It is with great pleasure that I and the Board of Directors of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce (GCCC) announce the appointment of Janet Garraty as Director of the GCCC effective August 1, 2020.
As many of you know, Janet has been serving as the Interim Director since earlier this year. The Board selected Janet as it became clear over the past few months that she has both the skills and the mindset to help lead this organization successfully into the future.
As Director, Janet will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Chamber, work collaboratively with the Board, community partners and our Chamber members to accomplish the vision and mission of this organization.
Janet has been a loyal member of the GCCC for more than eight years. In that time, she has volunteered for several leadership positions within our organization, as well as serving as editor for The Voice magazine and public relations assistant.
Because she has operated a small business for 15 years, Janet understands the complexities and challenges of what it is like to run a business. She will bring that insight, as well as her communication, organization, and collaborative abilities to her role here at the Chamber.
Janet recognizes this Chamber’s strong sense of community and will continue to work with the Board to further our goal of strengthening relationships with our members, helping them grow their businesses, and improving the business climate in this region.
We are also pleased to announce the hiring of Stacey Myers as Chamber Coordinator. Stacey is also a long-time volunteer of the Chamber, has significant event-planning experience, and has a great relationship with our members.
She is part of the Coordinator team that includes fellow Chamber Coordinator Megan Eiser, who, along with her husband, is scheduled to welcome their first child early this fall.
While our economy remains unsteady due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Board of Directors, Janet, and our team will continue to strive to deliver value to our members. We have and will continue to revise our in-person event calendar to provide the safest networking opportunities.
We look forward to providing new offerings to expand membership value further. Those offerings will include new educational programming, advertising opportunities, additional Member Directory listing updates and additional offerings of member profiles and news on our website.
We welcome Janet and Stacey to the Chamber and are looking forward to a successful future as we move into the new Rowan College South Jersey Economic Development Center later this summer.
